Welcome to the Tools & Calculators hub. Selecting the correct portable power station requires accurate mathematical calculation of electrical wattage and operating runtimes.
Sizing Fundamentals
To accurately size a power station, two distinct electrical parameters must be satisfied:
- Continuous & Surge Wattage (W): The inverter must be rated to deliver the continuous running watts of all connected devices simultaneously, plus the initial motor-startup surge power (critical for compressors, sump pumps, and refrigerators).
- Battery Capacity (Watt-Hours / Wh): Determines total operating duration. Our sizing models incorporate realistic DC-to-AC inverter conversion efficiency (typically 85%) to prevent under-sizing in critical scenarios.
